Who is responsible for this site
Sudoku Boku is operated by Hamilton Digital Media Limited, incorporated in England and Wales under company number 15608219, with its registered office at 13a Mill Lane, Wimborne, Dorset, BH21 1LN. Under the UK GDPR that company is the data controller for whatever information this site handles — and the whole point of the sections below is how little that turns out to be.
Questions about this policy, or a request concerning information relating to you, can go to [email protected] or through the contact page. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK's data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk.
The short version
Sudoku Boku has no accounts, no logins and no server-side storage. Puzzles are generated in your browser and printable packs are written to PDF there too. The contents of your puzzle, your entries and anything you print are not sent to us.
We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used and Google AdSense to fund it. Google's consent message gives visitors privacy choices where the applicable rules require them.
What is stored on your device
The game itself keeps two functional items in your browser's local storage, which is readable only by this site and only on your device:
- Your current game — the grid, your entries, your pencil marks, the timer and the mistake count — so you can close the tab and come back to it.
- Your light or dark theme preference.
The game code does not transmit either item. Clearing your browser data for this site removes both, which will also lose an unfinished game.
Cookies
The puzzle and theme features do not need cookies. Google Analytics and Google AdSense may use cookies or similar browser storage for measurement, advertising, fraud prevention and remembering privacy choices, subject to your location and the choices you make in Google's consent message.
Analytics
Google Analytics records information about visits and interactions, such as pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser details, and referral information. We use its aggregated reports to understand which parts of the site are useful and where the site can be improved.
Advertising
Google AdSense supplies and measures advertising on the site. Depending on consent and regional settings, Google and its advertising partners may process information including IP address, device or browser identifiers, page visits and interactions with ads to select, deliver and measure personalised or non-personalised advertising.
Your privacy choices
For visitors in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, analytics and advertising storage are denied by default while Google's consent platform obtains a choice. Its message lets you consent, decline, or manage individual purposes, and its Privacy and cookie settings link lets you change that decision later.
Google explains how it uses information from sites that use its services in its partner-sites policy and provides further detail in the Google Privacy Policy.
Hosting
The site is served as static files. Our host records standard web server request logs, which typically include IP address, user agent and requested URL, and which we do not use to build any profile of you.
Children
The puzzles are suitable for a broad audience, but the site is not directed specifically at children. We do not knowingly ask children, or anyone else, to give us personal information.
Questions
Anything unclear here is a fault in the writing, not in your reading — ask via the contact page and we'll fix it.
